We helped C3 to set up a simple 3 part strategy to reduce their carbon footprint:
- Reduce energy wastage
- Re-assess supply chain for sustainability & for opportunities
to reduce carbon
- Purchase offsets to cover the remaining carbon emissions |
C3 installed low energy light bulbs and switched to a ‘green’ energy supplier, the computer
network is now switched off at the close of business each day to avoid wasting energy on
‘standby’. Secure storage and changing facilities have been provided for staff wishing to
cycle to work and the company car and van fleet is being switched over to low emission and fuel efficient vehicles. Arrangements have been made to enable some staff to work from home on a regular basis which eliminates the environmental damage of commuting.
Suppliers were assessed on their comparative environmental profiles, ’greenest’ available
products were sought out with criteria such as high recycled material content a high priority.
At the end of the period the remaining unavoidable carbon emissions were calculated and
neutralised using our offset projects.
C3 is kept up to date on the projects’ progress with regular bulletins, which are shared with
and circulated to both their staff and customers.
