BUSINESS OFFSETTING

To achieve ‘climate neutral’ status you must ensure that the activities and operations of your
business do not have a negative impact on our climate.
Reduction and where possible elimination of CO2 emissions should be your priority when
aiming for carbon neutral status, leaving only unavoidable emissions to be offset.

Emissions are quantified by examining electricity and gas bills, fuel consumption of vehicles
and the number of miles travelled, along with air and train journeys, then entering the
information into our online calculators.

When your total emissions have been quantified to a specific amount of CO2, for example
9.5 tonnes, then we charge you a fee per tonne to offset your carbon emissions.
We do this by funding projects designed to reduce CO2 emissions that would otherwise
have occurred, thereby neutralising the damage that your activities have caused.
